Men should definitely be trying NOT to notice other women, and should definitely NOT be telling you when they see a hot babe with large breasts! How incredibly disrespectful! You should feel very blessed that your husband makes the effort to avoid the ogling!

Jesus said that to look lustfully at a woman not your wife, was adultery, pure and simple. BECAUSE it hurts your wife that much. It's about time that all these men who said "they can't help it" read their Bible ...... I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me..... And follow Job's Godly example, making a covenant with your eyes NOT TO LOOK AT WOMEN. Then keep it . Men would then be free to properly love your wife, and women will be free to stop feeling like sex objects, being ogled by every Tom, ***** and Harry, and will be able to trust their husband - like Job's wife, and women with husbands like mine are blessed to be able to do.

I was confused, and want to make sure that people do not think I swore (because a word I typed was blanked out) I types a perfectly normal expression, which means "everybody and anybody" It is three names, Tom (short for Thomas), D... (short for Richard) and Harry, (short for Henry). clearly the British shortening for Richard is, for some reason, considered in america to be a swear word..... how very very sad.

I thought Shaunti did a great job explaining this in the series of interviews with Dr. James Dobson--I understand they are still available. Men can't not notice an attractive woman. Then he must take that thought captive and make it obey Christ (cf 2 Cor. 10:5). From God's perspective in lovingly designing us it makes sense that guys would be interested in noticing attractive women. Then a man's thoughts must be consistent with God's plan for human relationships. He must not look selfishly at her with an interest in using her for his entertainment--or worse. That is not God's plan. Over the years I've gotten better at turning my attention elsewhere, especially if the woman is dressed inappropriately. Admittedly I'm not in my twenties or early thirties and also I think a small dose of medication for ADHD has helped as well. ADHD involves poor self control and some studies link it with a number of addictions, including sex addiction. Guys if you are getting a little adrenaline rush from seeing the attractive woman beware of your motives. Dr. Reisman's site has some good information on the biochemistry of sex addiction. She explains that adrenaline can be addictive for some men. I agree from my personal experience. This podcast on "The Drug of the New Millennium" is also worth checking out. http://www.internetsafetypodcast.com/?p=25 |

This is simply NOT TRUE.. it is a sweeping generalisation/steriotype/masculine indulgence to say that it is!! My husband and I have been marriage counselors/marriage preparation supporters for nearly 20 years, and have done enough work with enough couples to know this as fact. Sure SOME men have this problem, but by no means all. Just like some women have a problem with chocolate/ some men are car mad - BUT NOT ALL !!!!!
